Walking with Christ

Ever since I’ve started walking with Christ and living a God-driven life, everything has changed in the simplest and most beautiful kind of way. How do I mean? Just to list a few…

Living in peace and a calm, anxiety-free state of mind. Overworked and physically/mentally strained at times, yes. But ultimately and fundamentally in tranquility.

Taking joy and experiencing wonder and appreciation at the marvels of nature around us — slowing down while walking to class and taking in the vibrant changing maple leaves, the crisp autumn air, the Carolina blue sky swirling with cotton clouds, and the bright-eyed, curious chipmunks skittering to and fro across the brick paths.

Enjoying paintings, poetry, music, dancing, and singing in an inexplicable way — in a way where it feels as though someone has reached deep into my chest and squeezed my heart, making me feel the pain or the sorrow or the joy or the love that the artist experienced.

Seeing people for who they are — not what they’ve done nor what they’ve accomplished; not evaluating them on their merits, their looks, their intelligence, nothing. Solely and merely who they are as a fundamental human.

Wholly loving them, every single part of them, no matter what.Caring for the well-being of others and wanting to release them from the chokehold of this corrupt and sinful world we live in.And…most importantly and ultimately, desiring one thing in life and one thing only:To know and to love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
